I have tried to list resources geared more toward families here and resources more toward the classroom on the teacher page. But there is so much overlap! Please visit the family page as well.
It is easy to feel like these are just buzz words or one more thing in the very long list of things teachers are supposed to do. But if we don't take care of ourselves, we can not take care of others. I know in my life, when I am tired or stressed, that is when I make the most missteps in being trauma sensitive. This is when I loose my temper or fall back on old habits. We have to take care of ourselves!
This site offers great videos on the importance of trauma sensitive schools, the impact of trauma on learning and behavior in the classroom, and where to start on becoming more trauma informed.
